The Certificate of Competence program is for anyone who has completed LearnUp's (or Tattum Reading) Reading Workshop and wants an official certification of their ability to teach our structured literacy program, or wants to tutor or instruct for LearnUp Centers. Applicants must pass both a written and verbal exam in order to become certified.
The fee covers review time with LearnUp staff, Steve Tattum and certification. Please check with LearnUp staff to make sure you are qualified to enroll in this program prior to purchasing this product.

The Certification of Competency Process
This is for anyone has completed LearnUp's (or Tattum Reading) Reading Workshop and wants an official certification of their ability to teach our structured literacy program, or wants to tutor or instruct for LearnUp Centers.
Step 1. Review
Review the entire program. Attend the weekly Office Hours/Wednesday Review sessions. Wednesday review sessions are open to anyone who is enrolled or has completed the reading workshop.
We recommend enrolling in and watching the Essentials Review of Tattum Reading course: https://bit.ly/EssentialsReview This is the most up-to-date review of Tattum Reading. It includes the latest changes to the curriculum, videos of Steve Tattum walking through the full program, and links to review videos. This review, as Steve says, cuts to the chase!
Step 2. Written Test
Take the Assessment of Program Competency (Go to our website to download the written exam).
Step 3. Practicum
Complete 20 hours of practicum with a student prior to Certification Session.
Step 4. Small-Group Review
Review in small groups prior to the certification session.
Step 5. Certification Session with Steve Tattum
Private one on one certification session with Steve Tattum.
Certified!
You will receive a letter and certificate from LearnUp Centers stating that you are certified to teach the Tattum Reading Program.
